Naked baby pics :)

Carson is quite photogenic as you can see!! Isn't he handsome???!! Brant came over today and we had a great time taking these pictures. Carson was super cooperative and only peed (guess that is how you spell it :) in his face once during the photo shoot :) More of these to come...these are a great sampling of just how cute he is!!

CARSON JACK WALKER HAS ARRIVED!

The long awaited blog update has finally arrived :) Along with our absolutely precious and perfect Carson!!!!!! So sorry for you all that have been looking at my nasty swollen feet for awhile instead of the oh so handsome face you see now!!! My brother the photographer of the family helped capture each moment and my sis the journalist help record it all (see her blog feeblefeet for the minute-by-minute details :)

To summarize...after being placed on bed rest on July 29, my water broke at 9:40pm on
August 2. By the time we made it to the hospital around 11pm, my contractions were every 3 minutes and pretty strong. I was dilated 5cm and 100% effaced. Epidural was given at ???time- at that point I wasn't paying too much attention to the clock :) They called the doctor in around 2:30am and told me not to push until she got there. Once she arrived, Carson decided maybe he didn't want to come out after all...pushed until 4:24am and then he decided to make his grand entrance!!! All-in-all for labor and delivery stories, I am thankful for a fairly mild story to tell! FYI- I'm a big fan of epidurals now! (had been a bit hesitant and contemplated not getting one, but I am so glad I did).

Carson weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and 20.5 inches long. He has brown hair (as you can see) and it looks like a dimple developing on his left cheek (which you can't see yet).

After that, the past week has been one marvelous blur!! Every day I feel better and more like myself and every day, we are learning more about being parents and falling head over heels in love with this precious bundle of joy!!!!!! God has been so gracious to give us such a special and sweet baby boy and I thank Him daily for this little man!!!!!

What a HUGE blessing technology is!!!!!!! We were SO thankful that Amberley and Joe were able to be a part of it all through skype!!!!!!!! Definitely an answered prayer for all of us!!!!

Bed Rest

Sorry if you are completely grossed out by feet....or cankles! At my 37 week appointment yesterday my doctor decided to place me on bed rest. This decision came after gaining 8 pounds worth of fluid in ONE week and my blood pressure starting to creep up. We are concerned about the beginning of pre-eclampsia. This was a very disappointing visit for me, but I knew my feet and legs were getting bigger by the day and more uncomfortable by the minute. The good news is I'm already at least 3cm dilated and 90% effaced, so he may come soon and bed rest will be short lived. Please pray that I will compliant with the doctor's recommendations and Carson and I will both stay healthy up to the day he decides to make his grand entrance!

Week 37

37 weeks and 1 day

Happy 6th Anniversary! Larry and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary on July 26. We made a trip to Conway and Little Rock to purchase the remaining essentials (a few not so essential but fun things) for Carson's arrival. We had a ton of fun together and literally shopped til we dropped :) It was so fun to see Larry so excited about cute baby clothes and crib sheets :) His favorite purchase though was the video camera!

Bridge Class shower

Our Sunday school class in Russellville, The Bridge Class, gave us a great shower! We even had a surprise guest all the way from the other side of the world! These gals were so thoughtful and just made my day when Amberley joined us via Skype for the entire shower :)!! Also, my friend Mandie from Houston was able to join us too!! It was so fun and Carson got a ton of cute things! Thanks girls!

So my incredible brother in law- all the way from the other side of the world (literally, Asia) walked me through posting videos from picasa today! I am so excited to have this figured out before Carson arrives! So these are obviously out of order from the rest of the blog, but below are some videos of Larry and I telling our family the news in late December/early January!

Carson will be the first grandbaby on my side of the family and the third on Larry's (but first grandson), so everyone was obviously thrilled! Enjoy :)
